The University of Waterloo is waiving tuition fees for all qualifying students from First Nations communities on whose traditional territory the university is located.
WATERLOO REGION —
Waterloo will also offer Ontario domestic tuition rates for all Indigenous students across Canada and the United States, and will continue to waive the application fee for First Nations, Métis and Inuit applicants. Students will need to meet admission requirements for a full-time undergraduate or graduate program at Waterloo to qualify for the waiver.
It is not free, and it has never been free, she said. There are scholarships and bursaries available, but spots are limited and there is never enough money to go around.
