Utah takes action against solar company accused of deceiving clients, undelivered systems on Mar. 14, 2024 r alleged deceptive practices, the agency announced Tuesday.

The division is seeking damages on behalf of harmed consumers, as well as fines and penalties for statutory violations. Elan Solar is also accused of engaging in deceptive sales practices, including misleading consumers with fake Google reviews, misrepresenting its Better Business Bureau rating, and misrepresenting the cost of its solar energy systems and consumers' energy savings.

In addition, the Utah Division of Professional Licensing revoked Elan Solar's license on Aug. 30, 2023, after receiving complaints about failure to perform contracted services and pay subcontractors. Despite the revocation, Elan Solar allegedly continued unlawfully engaging in solar installations.
