Nvidia’s RTX 5090 is priced at over R60,000 in South Africa.

However, South African gamers were met with an even bigger price shock when the first local retailers announced their pricing. The RTX 4090 launched with a starting price of R37,999 in South Africa in October 2022, also a month after its global launch. That means the most affordable RTX 4090 was about R4,354— or 13% — more expensive in South Africa than in the US, which could easily be explained byThe most expensive option at launch was R49,999, 49% more expensive than the US price.That means the cheapest South African listing is R25,720 — or 58% — higher than the US price.

At the time of publication, major online vehicle classifieds website Cars.co.za had over 1,000 used passenger cars listed for R75,000 or less.
