USC signee JuJu Watkins shines in McDonald's All-American girls victory
Team West's JuJu Watkins and Team East's Hannah Hidalgo were co-MVPs in Tuesday night's McDonald's All-American girls game at Toyota Center.The top-ranked player in the country certainly looked the part Tuesday evening in the 46th annual McDonald’s All-American girls game.
USC signee and Sierra Canyon guard JuJu Watkins posted 25 points, five rebounds and five steals to lead the West Team to a 110-102 victory over the East at the Toyota Center. Watkins was named co-MVP of the contest alongside Hannah Hidalgo, a Notre Dame signee out of Paul VI High School in New Jersey. Hidalgo collected a game-high 26 points to go along with eight steals and five assists.
Arizona signee Jada Williams and UCLA signee Amanda Muse each scored 16 points for the West, and LSU signee Mikayla Williams had 15. South Carolina pledge Milaysia Fulwiley added 17 points for the East. The East held an 81-74 lead entering the fourth quarter before being outscored 36-21 in the final frame. The West connected on 10 of 14 shots from the field in the fourth quarter and 13 of 19 attempts from the free-throw line. The game featured 61 turnovers, including 33 by the East.
