Thousands are leaving the festival
“If you're attending the festival or travelling to East Midlands Parkway station between Wednesday 7 and Monday 12 June, please allow additional time for your journey.”The warning comes after severe delays were caused over the four days the event took place. The traffic delays began after campsites and campervan fields opened at 12pm on Wednesday June 7. Then delays continued on Thursday, June 8, when the entertainment began for the four day event.
Traffic monitoring site Inrix said: “Queueing traffic and delays expected due to Download Festival on Roads around Donington Park.”
