Pharmacies say they are now taking appointments for the latest COVID-19 vaccine, intended to protect against the newest coronavirus variants.
An updated COVID-19 vaccine is now available. KPBS Reporter Melissa Mae tells us where and when you can get it in San Diego County.recommends everyone 6 months and older get an updated COVID-19 vaccine to protect against the virus. Pharmacies are now taking appointments to administer the new vaccine.According to San Diego County, since the beginning of September, there have been more than 1,800 confirmed COVID-19 cases.
. “Anything we can do to mitigate harm and to protect ourselves and our families, I think, is a good idea.”According to Dr. Pong, this vaccine is different from the original COVID-19 vaccine and can provide protection against the variants that are currently responsible for most infections and hospitalizations in the United States.
