A tractor-trailer dangles off a bridge on the New York State Thruway over Mendon Center Road in Pittsford following a crash Thursday, March 14, 2024. The New York State Police say the Fed Ex driver, 35-year-old Muhammad Shujja-Udeen drifted onto the shoulder of Interstate 90 and sideswiped a car that was disabled there.Shujja-Udeen and a passenger of the car, 30-year-old Teyonna Walker, received minor injuries from the incident.
Three adults and an infant were in the other vehicle, according to Frank Manzo, chief of CHS Mobile Integrated Health Care ambulance service. All five people involved in the crash were taken to Strong Memorial Hospital with "seemingly minor injuries." Cholach said a large hazmat contingent responded to the scene due to a "significant" fuel spill, with close to 100 gallons of diesel fuel released.
