Football Insider has learned that Man United are unlikely to go in for Fulham star Joao Palhinha in January despite his failed Bayern Munich move.
But Erik ten Hag’s side did not have the budget to meet Fulham’s mammoth £90million asking price and instead signed long-term target Sofyan Amrabat on a loan-to-buy basis.
And although United are unlikely to pursue a move for the Portugal international in the winter window, player sales could make a fresh move possible.that Ten Hag is a “big fan” of the ex-Sporting CP star and “would have loved” to bring him to Old Trafford.Palhinha has featured for Fulham this season but missed their loss against Man City on Saturday following the collapse of his Bayern move.
