Almonte, Carleton Place hospitals shut ER because of staff shortages
The hospital shut the emergency room Friday at 3 p.m. and was to re-open at 7 a.m. on Saturday.Meanwhile, the Almonte General emergency department will be closed from Saturday at 7 p.m. until Sunday at 7 a.m.
“The rest of the hospitals are still open and caring for patients, including the obstetrical unit at AGH,” the alliance said. “We know these closures are concerning for our community,” said Mary Wilson Trider, president and CEO. “Unfortunately, we are dealing with multiple sick leaves. We are in contact with Ontario Health East Ministry staff to discuss potential solutions.”Article content
