Upcoming waterfront trail closure and detour happening in Whitby

The Region of Durham says there will be an upcoming waterfront trail closure and detour in Whitby. It will begin the first week of May, until summer 2024.

Pedestrian access to the current alignment of the Whitby Waterfront Trail next to the Whitby Water Supply Plant will be detoured to the new alignment next to Water Street. It’s being closed to safely complete the construction of the Whitby Water Supply Plant Raw Water Well Upgrade project.
