Orlando Pirates attacker Monnapule Saleng has been showered with praise by a club legend for his 'selfless' contribution to the Buccaneers' attacking line this season.
Despite a disappointing start with a shock 1-0 defeat to Stellenbosch, Jose Riveiro's chargers are finding their footing and have since enjoyed plenty of joy in front of goal, scoring seven goals in four league matches.Club legend Shakes Gwabeni believes Saleng has had a major contribution to that statistics despite having scored just twice this season in six appearances.
"People can say he is not scoring as much but I think the main difference is that he is more working for the team," Gwabeni told"You remember last season one of my complaints was that sometimes he seemed selfish, when a teammate was a position to score which is normal for a player who is confident.
"This season he has matured as a player, he is more of a team player, he is more selfless, making more passes to teammates who are in better positions and I think that shows in the results and shows in the way that Pirates is scoring now. He is making the team win."
