Umbrella body Universities South Africa says it's concerned about the challenges arising from changes to the National Student Financial Aid Scheme (Nsfas) allowance system. ECRNewsWatch NSFAS
Lectures at the Durban University of Technology were halted last week when students protested the payment changes.Universities SA represents 26 public varsities.
"Some of the campuses are experiencing violent protests from students, so in the interests of smooth continuation of academic projects USAf appeals for urgent engagements with the minister and Nsfas to resolve these issues decisively."
