Universal Orlando offers HHN guests ten haunted houses.
Summary SCREENRANT VIDEO OF THE DAY SCROLL TO CONTINUE WITH CONTENT Universal Orlando Resort has been providing thrill-seeking guests with a unique Halloween experience since the 90s, but the theme park has come a long way since its initial Halloween Horror Nights conception. A year after the park opened, Universal Orlando introduced “Fright Nights,” which featured a single haunted house called The Dungeon of Terror and encouraged the scare actors to craft their own costumes.
9 Dr. Oddfellow’s Twisted Origins Dr. Oddfellow is one of Universal Orlando’s original characters that dates back to 2000 when the circus entrepreneur made his debut at Halloween Horror Nights X. Over 20 years later, Halloween Horror Nights 32 brings him back in a starring role. Not only is Dr. Oddfellow this year’s icon, but the scare zones and one of the haunted houses also tie into his storyline.
7 The Darkest Deal The Darkest Deal is another original concept from the creative team at Universal Orlando, which introduces the character Pinestraw Spruce. Spruce is a Blues musician from the Mississippi Delta who makes a deal with The Collector to launch him into stardom. Needless to say, selling his soul wasn’t worth the fame, as park attendees will see first-hand.
5 Blood Moon: Dark Offerings Blood Moon: Dark Offerings is set in a 17th-century village and features a group of moon-worshippers set on killing any non-believers after they experience a blood moon during a fall festival. A story revolving around a creepy fall festival isn’t exactly unique, but Blood Moon: Dark Offerings is by far one of the goriest attractions at this year’s Halloween Horror Nights.
The house features some of Chucky’s most iconic kills from the movies and TV show, yet the story for the house itself is even more inventive. The “real” Chucky hijacks his haunted house after realizing that Universal isn’t actually killing the park guests and is determined to change that by possessing all of the dolls in the house. Having dozens of Chucky dolls pop out is scary as is, but the story behind the house helped it rise above some of the other offerings at Universal Orlando.
2 Universal Monsters: Unmasked Universal’s classic monsters have a long history at Universal’s Halloween Horror Nights. Just last year, The Wolf Man, Dracula, and The Mummy teamed up in Universal Monsters: Legends Collide. But curiously, the studio chose to pair Dr. Jekyll and Mr. Hyde, the Phantom of the Opera, the Invisible Man, and the Hunchback of Notre Dame together for 2023.
