Vaughan Dale Skirvin has been indicted on a murder charge in connection with the fatal shooting of Joshua Huron on Nov. 11, 2021.A Universal City man arrested in November after he allegedly called 911 while leaving the scene of a fatal shooting has been charged with murder and tampering with evidence.
Converse police found Joshua Huron, 33, unconscious with multiple gunshot wounds in the 8800 block of Appaloosa Pass on Nov. 11., an affidavit supporting Skirvin’s arrest stated.Local crime and courtroom news, delivered to your inbox weekly Dispatchers on the phone with Skirvin told officers the man said he was going to his Universal City home, where he planned to surrender to police, the affidavit stated.
In the two-count indictment, Skirvin, 28, is charged with murder and tampering with evidence, accused of attempting to alter the search for gunshot residue in an attempt to impair its use as evidence, according to the indictment. The Family Violence Division of the Bexar County District Attorney’s Office is prosecuting the case in the 187th District Court. If convicted, Skirvin faces five to 99 years or life in prison with a fine up to $10,000.
