The embattled University of SA (Unisa) has shown registrar Professor Steward Mothata the door following a fallout with top leadership
Unisa confirmed on Friday morning without detailing reasons that it had immediately terminated Mothata’s employment contract. In dealing with the matter, Unisa stated that it was adhering to its abiding principle and practice of not commenting on matters between itself and its employees in the public domain.
His suspension, LenkaBula stated in a letter on Tuesday, was based on several breaches of the employee disciplinary code, which constituted gross misconduct. She said Unisa had made an appeal to Mothata on June 12 to comply with the conditions of his suspension after his alleged initial failure to do so.
