These recently discovered photos might just do the trick. Taken in March 1991, these images capture a fantastic day out at The American Adventure theme park. This much-loved attraction, on the edge ofThe park first opened its doors in 1987, replacing the ill-fated Britannia Park which only operated for a brief 10 weeks in 1985.
Today, little remains of the once bustling theme park, although positive comments have been made about the new estate near Shipley Lake. For those missing the rides, some can still be found - one even as far away as Armenia. If you're not up for booking a flight, why not take a look at the photos below instead?
