UN Secretary-General Antonio Guterres will meet Turkish President Recep Tayyip Erdogan and Ukrainian President Volodymyr Zelenskyy for a trilateral meeting in Ukraine’s Lviv this week, a UN spokesperson has said.
The next day the UN chief will visit Istanbul’s Joint Coordination Centre , which is overseeing the export of Ukrainian grain under a Türkiye-brokered deal. Türkiye, the United Nations, Russia and Ukraine signed a landmark agreement on July 22 to resume shipments blocked since the start of the fighting between Russia and Ukraine that is now into its sixth month.
Odessa, also on Guterres’s itinerary, is one of the ports from where exports have started. The rest are Chernomorsk and Pivdennyi.
