At least 97 civilians and 45 soldiers have been killed in the violence, and 942 are injured, according to the Central Committee of Sudanese Doctors. After an agreed pause in the fighting for several hours on Sunday, bombardments, explosions and fires have reportedly hit Khartoum and other cities again on Monday.
Strikes from fighter jets hit near military headquarters in Khartoum on Monday and television footage showed smoke billowing from the capital’s international airport,Sudanese soldiers, loyal to army chief Abdel Fattah al-Burhan, inspecting the RSF base in the Red Sea city The army is also saying it is in control of eastern Sudan and Port Sudan on the Red Sea coast in the east. There are reports fighting is continuing in Darfur and also in Kordofan in the south, according to the BBC.
