PALO ALTO – A Ukrainian mother who was killed Sunday by Russian shelling in a city near Kyiv has been identified as the chief accountant for a Palo Alto-based tech firm.

Her family became the victim of the unprovoked fire on civilians, which under any law is a crime against humanity.

A 28-year-old man who was traveling with the family was also killed in the shelling. Ukrainian journalist Andriy Dubchack documented the deaths in photographs that were shared widely. In a Facebook post Monday, Dubchak said the family was from Donetsk and escaped to Irpin in 2014 when war broke out in the eastern region.Perebeinis and her children could not leave Irpin sooner because of her sick mother, SE Ranking investor and PandaDoc CEO Mikita Mikado said in a Facebook post Sunday.
