In a video posted by Dr Todurov – who works as a cardiac surgeon at the Kyiv Heart Centre – medics were plunged into darkness midway through a life-saving operation on a small child. ‘The electricity is gone. Dr Yemets described the conditions as ‘the worst I have seen in my surgical life’, but said they had no choice but to operate if they wanted to save the child’s life.
