The referendums are asking people if they want to be part of Russia.
"The Russians see an overwhelming reluctance and fear to attend the referendum and are forced to bring people... to create an image and an illusion of the vote," he said. It comes as traffic from Russia has doubled compared to last week following the partial mobilisation announced by Putin earlier this week.
"We heard a constant sound of artillery, and saw injured soldiers being transferred into ambulances, one of whom looked seriously wounded being carried on a stretcher. Avoiding the draft is illegal in Russia. But conscripts can defer their service in some cases, including if they’re medically unfit.
