The carefully choreographed 12-minute pyrotechnic display also made mention of the milestone 50 years of London’s Pride with a message from Peter Tatchell from the Gay Liberation Front, and included a message of support to Ukraine.Ahead of the fireworks, City Hall advised ticketholders to pack light and check their trains before travelling as some services left London earlier than in previous years.
Thousands of Metropolitan Police officers have been on duty to deal with the large crowds in central London.
