The UK will be hit by what is known as an Iberian plume next week
Newly-released UK weather maps show potentially 'the start of summer' with a 25C Iberian plume on the way next week. June is already past the half-way mark, and it has been feeling more like the unsettled weather from October and November.
On June 25, London and Inverness are forecast to be the hottest places in the UK at 25C. Cities and towns in the Midlands and Yorkshire will still enjoy 23C and 24C of sunshine, reports the Express. Temperatures are predicted to be slightly lower in Wales and other coastal areas. Cornish towns can expect 16C to 20C, while Wales will experience 17C to 20C of summer temperature.
The Met Office also highlighted the possibility of disruptive weather soon: "There remains a small chance of an area of heavy, thundery rain affecting parts of the south on Friday 21, possibly accompanied by briefly hot and humid conditions." Met Office five-day forecast Expect a mix of sunshine and showers, though many areas will stay mostly dry, a contrast to the weekend's weather. Showers, potentially heavy and thundery, are more likely in eastern and northeastern parts, while the southwest should remain the driest.Tonight The evening will see showers gradually easing, although some sporadic rain may persist over northern Scotland. With light winds and clear skies for many, there's a chance of patchy mist or fog.
