Reporting by Andrea Blazquez
It has also been announced by the Government that it will be delaying the ban on multibuy deals on products high in fat, salt and sugar due to the fact that customers are still struggling in the face of the cost of living crisis. However, from October 2023, promotions like 'buy one, get one free' on junk food will be banned from stores.
Food and Drink Federation chief executive Karen Betts, on the other hand, said:"The implementation of the delay to the ban on volume promotions is welcome news, including for hard-pressed shoppers at a time of rapid food price inflation. Our industry looks forward to continuing to work with the Government to help tackle obesity and poor diets.
