A study has revealed which national parks are the most popular on Instagram, with the Yorkshire Dales and Northumberland among those in the top ten
Its breathtaking mountains and tranquil lakes have attracted visitors for centuries, but now the Lake District has received the very modern title of being the UK’s most Instagrammable National Park. Once a place that inspired poets and writers such as William Wordsworth and Beatrix Potter, today you’ll more likely find the Lake District popping up on your Instagram feed than in a poem.
The hashtag #LakeDistrict was the most frequently used, featuring on 4,340,437 posts, while #LakeDistrictNationalPark was used on 569,348 posts. Hugely popular with Brits and tourists alike, the Lake District is known for Lake Windermere, England’s largest lake, and Scafell Pike, England’s highest mountain.The Peak District was named the second most Instagrammable in the study by travel site Tripplo, with a total of 2,866,251 posts with the hashtags #PeakDistrict and #PeakDistrictNationalPark.
