JOHANNESBURG - Unemployment Insurance Fund Commissioner Teboho Maruping says the lengthy mass suspensions of several executives and other employees during the hard COVID-19 lockdown in 2020 has had devastating ripple effects on the organisation.
All other UIF employees who were affected by the action taken after the auditor general flagged irregularities with the COVID-19 Temporary Employee/Employer Relief Scheme were also back in their posts.“I’ve actually been opening myself up to staff. To tell them I am hurt. I am broken. I am bruised and they must not expect me to be the same immediately,” he said.
