For all the offensive struggles, UH erased an 11-point second-half deficit and pulled within 42-40 on a layup by Taze Moore with 5:25 remaining. But the Cougars managed only one field goal the rest of the game. Collin Gillespie, the two-time Big East Player of the Year and AP third-team All-American, followed with his first field goal of the game and the Cougars went scoreless for the next three-plus minutes to trail 46-40.
