Houston Cougars in 2023 NCAA basketball tournament: What to know, how to watch and more
UH opens the NCAA Tournament on Thursday against Northern Kentucky as the top seed in the Midwest Region.One of the most anticipated NCAA Tournament runs in University of Houston history begins this week, withas NRG Stadium will host college basketball's marquee event April 1 and 3.
But that's still two-plus weeks away, so we'll start with what to know about the Cougars' first-round game:UH, the top seed in the Midwest region, will play No. 16 seed Northern Kentucky , the Horizon League champion. Here'sTipoff is scheduled for 8:20 p.m. CT on Thursday at Legacy Arena in Birmingham, Ala., working his final NCAA Tournament, on the call.
CBS, TBS, TNT and truTV will air first- and second-round games. The games will also be streamed on their respective websites/apps , but fans will need to log in with their cable/satellite provider info to watch the games online. Those without a cable/satellite subscription may try a free trial on services such as YouTube TV or Fubo TV, but those trials usually are only for a week or two before regular monthly charges kick in.
At this point, available tickets are pretty much limited to resale sites. Tickets for UH's session in Birmingham started at roughly $150 each on sites such as Ticketmaster and StubHub.If the Cougars win , they will play the winner of No. 8 Iowa and No. 9 Auburn on Saturday in Birmingham, with the time to be announced after Thursday's games are completed.
