Real Madrid got their hands on yet another trophy after clinching the UEFA Super Cup with a 2-0 win over Eintracht Frankfurt on Wednesday night.Carlo Ancelotti went with the same starting line-up that got the job done in last season's Champions League final, as new signings Antonio Rudiger and Aurelien Tchouameni started on the bench.
Ancelotti's men got stronger as the half went on and they nearly opened the scoring on at the midway point when Vinicius Junior saw his effort cleared off the line. From the resultant corner, Los Blancos got the breakthrough when Casemiro did well to keep in Karim Benzema's strike and found David Alaba, who slotted home from close range.
Real would get their reward a few minutes later as Vinicius turned provider after breaking down the left flank to pick out Benzema, who sent a first-time strike past Trapp.
