Incidents of drivers allegedly being tricked into being robbed are increasing in the Diepkloof area.
Police from Diepkloof have been diligently searching for the people who allegedly trick Uber drivers into robberies around Diepkloof, reportsThree more cases of robbery have been opened at the Diepkloof SAPS, after all three victims reported incidents at the station that after an Uber was requested by a man who calls himself Sello, they have been robbed at gunpoint.
The person who requests the Ubers under the moniker “Sello” gets in the car and pulls out a gun before being joined by his accomplices for the robberies. Captain Matlou-Mteto said: “We are urging all the Uber drivers to be aware of these robberies that take place around Diepkloof and to try by all means to avoid being robbed further.”
