Brown’s latest financial disclosure report shows that in addition to his $174,000 yearly salary as a U.S. Senator, he collected $27,053 in retirement money from the State of Ohio. Before he was elected to the U.S. Senate, Brown served in the state legislature and as Ohio Secretary of State. His Ohio Public Employee Retirement System pension plans are valued between $100,000 and $250,000.

Brown’s report indicates that Shultz earned more than $1,000 in salary and wages from both Kent State and Denison universities, $750 from The Washington Post for a pair of articles, as well as more than $1,000 in salary from USA Today and more than $1,000 in royalties from Random House,
