At least 17 Americans are missing, says National Security Council spokesman John Kirby
WASHINGTON — The number of U.S. citizens who have died in the Israel-Palestinian war has risen to 22, a White House official said Wednesday.
White House National Security Council spokesman John Kirby said he did not have details on where exactly the Americans were killed. He said there are at least 17 missing, and of those a handful are believed to be held hostage. Kirby observed in an interview Wednesday with the cable news channel MSNBC that whether those Americans missing and killed are dual citizens or have only U.S. citizenship is immaterial, as people in both categories are considered American by the State Department and the Biden White House.
