Standout offensive performances have been at the forefront of Seattle’s postseason push. Veteranhas been outstanding as of late. Lockett has been an under-discussed commodity this season and deserves his respect.
It represents a stark change in production for Lockett, whose previous two-game stretch saw the former Kansas State standout accumulate just 62 receiving yards and nine receptions. Lockett averaged a pedestrian 6.9 receiving yards across those two performances. Lockett has unlocked his true form in recent weeks. That midseason lull is officially in Lockett’s rearview mirror.
Lockett is as sure-handed as ever. He’s been credited with just one drop this season. The aging receiver still possesses enough wiggle to elude opposing defenders. Lockett is averaging 3.3 yards after the catch per reception, per Pro Football Focus. Smith has enjoyed a quarterback rating of 112.1 when targeting Lockett.
