Former US President Barack Obama has once again shared his much-loved year-end list of favourites. This time, the highlight for South Africans is Tyla’s feature on his 2024 Favourite Music list., a collaboration with Jamaican dancehall star Skillibeng and American rapper Gunna, earned its spot among Obama’s top 25 songs, according to“Here are my favourite songs from this year! Check them out if you’re looking to shake up your playlist,” Obama posted on social media.
“Seeing South African talent on such a list is inspiring,” said Tshidi Moeketsi, a Pretoria-based radio host. “It proves our music speaks to people across the globe.”His diverse selection often introduces audiences to new artists.
