Tyendinaga Township Council changing meetings from Monday night to Wednesday afternoon

The Township of Tyendinaga is going to be running a trial for a new date and time for council meetings.

The municipality typically would hold meetings on the first and third Monday evening of the month, or Tuesday evenings of a long weekend.C.A.O. Carla Preston says one of the concerns was that council would often get an agenda on Friday evening and then would need to go through a large amount of information over the weekend, sometimes hundreds of pages. If they had questions, it could often prove difficult for track down an answer on a Saturday or Sunday.

Preston says on Monday evening, council elected to try the first and third Wednesday afternoon. The closed session would begin at 3:00 p.m., the open session starting at 4:00 p.m. Preston says this will come up for review at the end of November, when could will decide whether or not to make the change permanent.
