TxDOT to hold public hearings for U.S. 380 bypass alignment
Affected resident told Collin County commissioners the newest proposal will destroy livelihoods and wipe out wildlife habitat.
Rick Eubank said Segment C would divide his property in half, which has a pumpkin patch business on it and sits among one of the largest contiguous forests left in Collin County. “I’ll have to live right beside the bypass because I will not be able to afford to move. Also, I bought this for the peace and quiet which won’t be the case,” he said.Gibson and his wife bought the property in 1985 waited until 1999 to move there. The couple did not build their dream home on the land until recently, after learning TxDOT had decided on Segment D for the project.
