TxDOT plans to close part of Loop 1604 for its long-running Loop 1604 North Expansion Project
Drivers on Loop 1604 near its crossing with Interstate 10 should expect delays this weekend. The Texas Department of Transportation plans to close the eastbound and westbound lanes of Loop 1604 , as well as its frontage roads, at the crossing with I-10 from 9 p.m. Friday until 5 a.m. Monday, according to an announcement from the agency. The right lane of I-10 westbound and several exit ramps on 1604 and I-10 will also be closed, as well as a portion of the I-10 eastbound frontage road.
TxDOT is making the closures for “bridge construction and bent cap placement” as part of its long-running, $1.4 billion Loop 1604 North Expansion Project overhauling the stretch of Loop 1604 between Bandera Road and Interstate 35. Detours will be available, with local law enforcement directing traffic through intersections, according to the announcement.
