A woman in her 40s has now been arrested on suspicion of murder.
A two-year-old girl who went missing and was found in a village pond has died in hospital.
The child was discovered in Kingsley Pond, in Kingsley near Bordon, Hampshire, after being reported missing from her home just after 5pm on Sunday.The force also confirmed a woman in her 40s has been arrested on suspicion of murder.She was found in the pond a short time later, and was raced to hospitalA spokeswoman for the force said: ‘Officers are appealing for information following the death of a child who was found unresponsive at Kingsley Pond.
‘Officers are working to establish exactly what happened and are keen to speak to anyone who was in the area of Kingsley Pond yesterday, prior to the incident. ‘Officers will be in the area so please feel free to approach them if you have any concerns or information. ‘A woman, aged in her 40s, has been arrested on suspicion of murder. She is currently in police custody.’
