Two taken into custody following Cumberland Street standoff

THUNDER BAY -- Thunder Bay Police say they have taken a male into custody following an incident overnight on the city's northside.

According to a Thunder Bay Police release, officers were initially dispatched to a residential address in the 200 block of Cumberland Street North at about 11:55 p.m. on Thursday, Aug. 11 after learning a male wanted on warrants was inside. Police say the male had barricaded himself inside the home. Police established an incident command post and began negotiations with the male.A female suspect was also arrested and taken into custody.
