Strathmore RCMP have arrested two suspects in connection to an arson that took place at a local school in April.
On April 23, at approximately 12 a.m., Strathmore RCMP received a report of a fire at Crowther Memorial Junior High School. A press release said the local fire department arrived and extinguished the fire to a rear portable classroom and discovered indicators that the fire had been set on purpose.There were several incidents of vandalism by spray paint near the Strathcona area around the same time.
“Partnerships with our communities are essential to maintain public safety and identify those involved in criminal activity which negatively impacts us all which was evident in this case,” said Staff Sgt. Mark Wielgosz. “I would like to extend my thanks to our community members who assisted in the identification of those charged in this matter.”
