A high-speed car chase in Newlands East, KwaZulu-Natal ended in the death of two armed robbery suspects on Friday.
According to police spokesperson, Brigadier Jay Naicker, a group of armed men robbed a courier vehicle on the M7, near Edwin Swales Drive and made off with a large quantity of valuable goods. "A description of the vehicle used in the armed robbery was circulated and [it] was later spotted travelling in the Newlands East area.""The suspects lost control of their vehicle and crashed into a barrier. They abandoned their vehicle and continued to shoot at police officers whilst fleeing on foot."Naicker said the investigation would continue.
