BRISBANE – Two separate fires knocked out power in Brisbane on Monday night, authorities said.
Firefighters arrived to find a large swath of heavy brush and grass burning at a slow rate of spread, according to the authority. The blaze was difficult to suppress due to the heavy brush and access issues, but crews managed to keep it under an acre and fully contained it by 10 p.m. A second blaze was reported shortly after 9 p.m. on the 2800 block of Bayshore Boulevard. Additional details about the fire were not immediately available late Monday.
