Two people were shot and police are appealing for information after the sound of gunshots were reported in the Kingston Road and Lawrence Avenue East area on Saturday afternoon.

Toronto police received a call about the incident around 3:20 p.m., and later said that two people went to hospital with gunshot wounds. One of the injured was described as a man in his 20s. The victims’ wounds are believed to be non-life-threatening and connected to the shooting incident, according to police.

A suspect description was not available and media relations officer Laura Brabant said the investigation “is still very early in the investigation.” Officers were on scene investigating and anyone with information is asked to contact police at 416-808-4300.
