Police are slowly making headway with arrests of suspects connected to mass shootings. Two more men were arrested in connection with the shooting incident that claimed five lives in Khayelitsha.
Mass shootings in Khayelisha have shocked the Cape Town community. Police are slowly making progress with their apprehension of suspects.
Two more arrests were made on Tuesday in connection with the mass shooting that occurred in Endlovini on 14 March which claimed the lives of five victims.According to police spokesperson Brigadier Novela Potelwa, organised crime detectives arrested two men aged 25 and 28. The 25-year-old was arrested in Cala in the Eastern Cape and the other suspect was apprehended in Khayelitsha.
Potelwa reports that “the second suspect, aged 28, who had given the police the runaround, was arrested in Khayelitsha on Tuesday. An unlicensed firearm believed to be the murder weapon for the five murders, was found in his possession. An additional charge of illegal possession of a firearm was added to the murder charge he faces,” as reported byThis accounts for the third arrest made in connection with the shooting.
The two suspects who were arrested on Tuesday are scheduled to appear in the Khayelitsha Magistrate’s Court today, Wednesday 11 May.
