The Gold River Volunteer Fire Department was called about 2:30 a.m. for reports of a fire in a block of mobile homes in the downtown area.
The crew arrived to find two mobile homes fully engulfed in flames and the fire threatening to spread. Several trees were also on fire.
Two mobile homes were destroyed, and another was badly damaged and will likely be written off, said Gold River Fire Chief John McPherson. Four other homes were damaged.
