Andrew Petts and Joshua Roess were allegedly found in a residence with multiple weapons and ammunition

Two of the three men facing multiple weapons offences after a recent arrest in a central Sault Ste. Marie residence have been denied bail while they await trial.

Andrew Petts, age 31, and 29-year-old Joshua Roess were arrested along with 53-year-old John Giuliani on Jan. 26 at a residence on Manilla Terrace. Officers with the Sault Ste. Marie Police Service had been investigating a report of men pushing a dirt bike down the street nearby, around Alexandra and Andrew streets.

Petts and Roess each appeared in bail court by video from the Algoma Remand and Treatment Centre for two separate bail hearings on Tuesday broadcast from the Algoma Remand and Treatment Centre.In a recent police release, Sault Police said officers suspected the dirt bike was stolen and the investigation eventually led to a residence on Manilla Terrace, where firearms and ammunition were discovered.

The three men are each facing a charge of Possession of Property Obtained by Crime, as well as numerous weapons offences. Of the three, only Roess is facing drug trafficking charges.

Petts will attend video remand on March 9, while Roess’ next appearance is on Feb. 23. Guiliani will next appear in court on Feb. 27.
