Auburn Police say two men face a long list of charges following a police chase and crash on Interstate 85.
Police say they received several auto burglary reports that happened near the 2300 block of Wire Road between 6PM and 7PM on Wednesday. That location is near the Wire Road Soccer Complex. Investigators say a witness gave them a description of the suspects’ vehicle. The pursuit continued as the vehicle turned on the northbound entrance onto Interstate 85. Opelika police joined the chase as the vehicle entered their city heading north. The suspects’ vehicle continued speeding until it crashed into another vehicle near Exit 62. No one was injured, police say.
Waller was arrested on warrants charging him with three counts of breaking and entering into a vehicle, two counts of trafficking in stolen identities, four counts of fraudulent use of a debit/credit card, two counts of theft of property third degree, possession of burglary tools, felony attempting to elude and theft of property fourth degree.
