A case of culpable homicide has been opened in connection with the incident.
Two of the four learners who died in a car accident on their way to school on Monday are being laid to rest in Daveyton on Sunday. The Gauteng Education Transport Services at the funeral, pledged to implement measures to prevent scholar transport crashes.
The brothers, Hlompho Mofokeng and Khethelo Zulu, died when their scholar transport collided with multiple vehicles on the N12 westbound close to Daveyton. The other two learners, aged six and seven, were laid to rest on Saturday. “We, as the organisation of the learner transport, are deeply saddened, and we are going to make sure that this comes to an end, together with the department of education and the law enforcement. May the memory of their smiles, laughter, and milestones be a blessing to you in the days ahead.
