League City’s Andrea Hightower who represented Galveston County in the Miss Texas USA pageant, was a semifinalist in the competition.From a field of 89 young women, two contestants from League City made the semifinals last Saturday night at the Miss Texas USA pageant in Houston.
It was the marketing manager’s second try at the title but her first time to advance to the semifinals. “It kicked my butt,” she said. “I had worked hard to gain 15 pounds for the pageant, then I lost five pounds . My swimsuit had to be altered the night before the pageant and my dress had to be taken in.”
“I felt I was too pale for white, even with a spray tan, and we wore red in the opening number,” she said.IsreL Fonseca“I told him, ‘You know my measurements,’” Fernandisse said, adding that she wanted something elegant. Fonseca produced a sapphire blue gown with side cutouts.A hair-and-makeup artist, Hightower said she collaborated with Gaspar Cruz of Crown Couture in Houston to design her gown.
