The local branch closures will happen in October 2024
Lloyds Bank has announced the closure of 28 branches, citing a shift towards mobile and online banking among "most customers". The closures are set to take place between October this year and June 2025.
The Lloyds Banking Group will also be closing 17 Halifax branches and 15 Bank of Scotland sites. This is because the firm said that the use of the locations had fallen by an average of 52% to 68% over the last five years.A spokesperson said: "Mobile banking is more popular than ever with over 19 million customers choosing our app to manage their money.
Among those set to close are the the Halifax branch in Ormskirk and the Lloyds branch in Fulwood, Preston. As reported by BirminghamLive, the full list of Lloyds Bank and Halifax closures is provided below.
